September is right around the corner. That means it is back to school time. Pencils, notebooks, backpacks, and other school supplies aren’t the only things you should have on your back to school list. Think about your insurance coverage.
Back To School Insurance Needs
- Laptops – Computer Equipment – What kind of insurance coverage could you possibly need for back to school? Does your child bring a laptop, tablet, cell phone or other computer device of value back and forth to school? Do you have it listed on your homeowners insurance in case something happens to it? It is a good thing to check into. You’ll be glad you did if it gets lost, stolen or damaged.
- Renters Insurance – Do you have a child heading to college? Are they renting an apartment or home? Do they have renter’s insurance or are they covered under your policy? These are great questions to ask. Again, we don’t like to think about reasons why we might need this coverage, but you’ll be glad you did if something happens. Their personal property is valuable.
- Auto Insurance – A new school years sometimes means you have new drivers in your home. Make sure to add new drivers to your insurance. Also, if you have a college student that won’t be driving for an extended period of time check into what the proper auto insurance coverage is for them. You may be able to save some money.
